Lines and how pays work
The rules page prints 10 WAYS and shows 10 line patterns numbered 01 to 10. All line pays are multiplied by the bet. Only the highest line win is paid on each line played, and the symbols must appear on a betted line, on adjacent reels beginning with the leftmost reel.
All wins count leftmost to right only. The single exception is the golden book, which pays as a scatter on any reel.
The golden book: scatter and wild
The golden book appears on reels 1 to 5. As a scatter it pays on any reel: 5 books = 200, 4 books = 20 and 3 books = 2, credits times the bet. 3 or more books on the reels trigger the Free Spin Bonus.
The same book is also wild and can substitute for all symbols.
Symbols and paytable
The top symbol is the explorer woman in a brown hat: 5 = 5,000, 4 = 1,000, 3 = 100 and 2 = 10. The golden pharaoh mask pays 2,000, 400, 40 and 5. The golden scarab with a green gem and the golden falcon statue each pay 750, 100, 30 and 5. These four symbols already pay with 2 of a kind.
The letters A and K pay 150, 40 and 5 for 5, 4 and 3 symbols, while Q, J and 10 pay 100, 25 and 5. These numbers are printed for denomination 0.02 and bet multiplier 1; the rules page says all wins show for bet x 1 multiplier, and they change with your bet.
Free Spin Bonus and the expanding symbol
3 or more books trigger the Free Spin Bonus. The game randomly selects a symbol. If that symbol appears in the free game and has a winning combination after expanding, it expands and covers a complete reel. The selected symbol does not need to be adjacent, but it has to be on an active payline.
In the free game, 3 or more books trigger an additional 10 free spins, to a maximum of 100 free spins. The bonus page prints the same book pays and the same paytable as the main game.
Playing within a budget
Set a budget before you start and stop when it is gone. The rules page states that a malfunction voids all plays and pays.
Book Of Mystery paytable
Values as printed on the rules page for denomination 0.02 and bet multiplier 1 (all wins show for bet x 1 multiplier), for 5, 4, 3 and 2 same symbols on a line from the leftmost reel; they change with your bet.
