Five chests on reel 5
The BONUS symbol, a costumed figure in a feathered headdress, appears only on reel 5 and only in the base game. When it lands, five chests appear; you pick one and its prize is paid at once.
Each chest holds either a direct money award of 2x, 3x, 5x, 7x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 30x or 40x total bet, or the FREE SPINS feature with 10, 15 or 20 starting spins. The pages do not say how the prizes are chosen.
The pyramid and the free spins
Any reel can carry the Scatter, a golden stepped pyramid. Two of them pay 1x total bet. Three, four or five of them trigger 10, 15 or 20 free spins; landing 3, 4 or 5 again inside the round retriggers it for 10, 15 or 20 additional spins. Special reels are used in the feature, the BONUS chests are switched off, and the free spins win is paid when the round completes.
Four symbols with their own meters
In free spins the top 4 paying symbols also count as MONEY symbols, each with a starting value. When the WILD lands with any MONEY symbols, the total value of all MONEY symbols on the screen is paid. Each MONEY symbol that lands fills its own meter, and at set counts its value rises for the rest of the round (x total bet):
- Explorer: 10x, +5x per level; 13 symbols for level one, then 3 more each level.
- Backpack: 5x, +3x per level; 11 first, then 3 more.
- Shovel and pickaxe: 3x, +2x per level; 9 first, then 2 more.
- Binoculars: 2x, +1x per level; 7 first, then 2 more.
Line pays and the stone mask
Wins run left to right on 10 numbered paylines, highest win per line, lines added together. At a total bet of RM2.00 the rules page shows RM400.00 for five explorers and RM1,000.00 for five WILDs, and both also pay for two in a row. The WILD, an Aztec-style stone mask, can land on all reels and replaces every symbol except the Scatter and the BONUS symbol.
Buying the round, and the 5,000x limit
The FREE SPINS round can be bought from the base game for 60x total bet; on that spin 3, 4 or 5 Scatters hit at random. Wins are capped at 5,000x bet, and a free spins round that reaches the cap ends at once with the remaining free spins forfeited. The rules pages do not mention an Ante Bet or a jackpot.
Before your first spin
The bet range is RM0.10 to RM500.00, and the paytable amounts move with your bet, so check them at the bet you choose. Set a budget, keep the bet small while you learn the chests and meters, and stop when the budget is used.
Jane Hunter and the Mask of Montezuma paytable
RM amounts the rules page shows for 5 / 4 / 3 / 2 symbols on a line at a total bet of RM2.00; they change with your bet.
