How the 324 to 200,704 ways are built
Each reel gets a random number of symbols, so the ways count differs per spin, from 324 to 200,704. A main reel holds at most 7 symbols in any spin. The Top Cart Reel holds only 4, spins from right to left and is played only above Reel 2 to Reel 5. Symbols may randomly take up 2 to 6 positions and still count as a single symbol.
Ways wins and cascades
Ways wins go to adjacent symbol combinations from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel, except SCATTER wins. Under the same way only the highest symbol pay is awarded, and ways wins are combined and added.
Winning symbols are removed and new ones fall into place; on the Top Cart Reel the gaps fill from the right instead. This repeats until no new winning combination is available.
Transforming Gold To WILD
In the main game and in free game, symbols other than WILD and SCATTER that occupy 2 to 6 spaces on Reel 2, 3, 4 and 5 can appear with a gold frame. A 1x1 symbol never gets the frame, and the feature does not happen on the Top Cart Reel. The sequence is:
- A Gold Frame symbol forms part of a winning combination.
- Before cascading, it turns into a WILD symbol.
- If that WILD is part of a new winning combination after the cascade, it explodes after calculation and new symbols drop in from above.
Choosing the Free Game option
The option is selected automatically or manually, depending on the game configuration. With 4 SCATTER the choices are:
- 15 Free Spins starting with multiplier x1.
- 10 Free Spins starting with multiplier x5.
- 5 Free Spins starting with multiplier x10.
- A random number of Free Spins with a random starting multiplier.
Extra SCATTER, the multiplier and retriggers
Each SCATTER beyond 4 in the triggering spin adds 4 free spins to options 1 to 3: 19, 14 or 9 for 5 SCATTER, 23, 18 or 13 for 6; option 4 stays random. SCATTER symbols only award free spins and do not add to total win.
During Free Game every win, cascading wins included, raises the bonus multiplier by x1. Cascading wins are calculated before the multiplier goes up and new symbols appear, and the multiplier stays until the Free Game ends. 3 or more SCATTER during Free Game trigger 5 additional Free Spins. Total Bet matches the triggering spin; Free Game ends when spins run out.
Reading the paytable
The gorilla leads with 1.50 for six. The iguana and A share a row, as do K and Q, and J and 10 share the lowest.
The Great Safari paytable
Values as printed on the Paytable page (Symbols Payout Values) for 6, 5, 4 and 3 symbols. The Help Page says Way wins = Credit X Corresponding multiplier according to paytable.
