How the HITS grid reads
The word HITS sits at the top left of the grid. Below it, each row starts with a row of x marks: five marks, four, three, two and one. Those marks give the number of symbols, and the numbers across the row are the pays printed for that count. Each of the ten columns has its symbol picture at the top.
Where a column has no number for a count, nothing is printed in that cell. The page does not say what the numbers are multiplied by, so this guide gives them as they stand.
The ten columns, left to right
The columns come in pairs with the same numbers, except for the last two. The lion dance head and the dragon head each have their own figures, and only the dragon head has a number in the single x row.
- 福 tile and blossom branch: 5 marks 50, 4 marks 10, 3 marks 3
- Red lantern and firecrackers: 200, 25, 5
- Plate of dumplings and basket of steamed buns: 300, 50, 10, 2 for two
- Red packet and basket of oranges: 1000, 150, 20, 5 for two
- Lion dance head: 5000, 250, 25, 5 for two
- Dragon head: 10000, 500, 50, 10 for two, 2 for one
Two-way wins
Between the grid and the lower boxes the page prints one rule: ALL WINS PAY LEFT TO RIGHT AND RIGHT TO LEFT! It gives no further detail, such as how a line that wins from both ends is paid, and it prints no line count or line pictures.
WILD and SCATTER
A red fish with the word WILD on its tile stands next to the words IS WILD. Under them the page says the WILD substitutes for all symbols. The page does not name any exception and gives the fish no column in the HITS grid.
On the left, a tile with the characters 年年有余 and the word SCATTER heads a box titled SCATTER PAYS. Its rows of marks pay 100 for five, 10 for four, 5 for three and 1 for two. No free games, bonus round or gamble are described on this page.
What the page leaves out
Apart from the DOLLAR BALL PAYTABLE label, Dollar Ball is not mentioned or explained. There is no second page with lines or extra rules; the RETURN TO GAME button sits right under the boxes.
