What sets the sequel apart
The base board is still 5 reels by 3 rows with a fixed 243 ways, wins counted from the first reel to the right, and a red firecracker charm Wild on reels 2 to 5 that stands in for everything except the three Lucky Coins. The change sits inside the Free Game. Here the Dragon coin is purple, and it is the coin that adds a second board.
Starting a Free Game
According to the help page, the blue Tiger, purple Dragon and green Koi coins give a chance to trigger a Free Game. One coin starts that animal's game and two or three different coins start a mixed one, all the way to Tiger + Dragon + Koi. Each version is built from gold coins plus the coins of the animals involved.
You get 3 free spins, and 5 gold coins are placed on the reels at the start. Each time gold, blue, purple or green coins appear, the count goes back to 3. The bet stays the same as on the spin that started it.
The Dragon and the dual reels
The first Dragon coin in the Free Game unlocks the dual reels. When the other board opens, 5 gold coins are added to it in the same way and you also receive the Lucky Coin effect that was already active. After that, each further Dragon awards a 2x multiplier. The Dragon also doubles the rewards of the other coins and turns into a purple coin with a bonus.
The help page adds one more line it does not explain: in the Free Game an Auspicious Coin may appear without triggering any effects, granting the feature game effect.
Tiger, Koi and coin values
The Tiger coin keeps flipping to reveal bonuses and becomes a blue coin. The Koi coin collects the winnings of the gold, blue, purple and green coins and becomes a green coin. Gold and purple coins show 0.1x to 3x of the total bet, blue coins 3x to 100x with MINI, MINOR or MAJOR among them. Coins in every position give the GRAND, and all coin bonuses are paid when the Free Game ends.
A note on the coins at the top
The help page says the size of the coins shown above the reels is only design and has no direct relation to the actual winning rate. So read them as decoration. Set your budget first, keep the bet small and walk away when the budget is gone.
3 Coin Treasures 2 paytable
