How a round of Casino War works
Pick a chip value (0.5 up to 1000), tap the betting area to place it, then press Deal. The dealer and you each draw one card. Cards rank from 2 at the bottom up to 10, Jack, Queen, King and Ace at the top.
If your card is higher you win even money, 1 to 1, and the round is over. If the dealer's card is higher you lose your bet. Press New Game for another round, or Re bet to place exactly the same bets as last time. A right click on the chips on the table removes them (on a computer).
When the cards are equal: War or Surrender
A tie is where Casino War gets its name. You have two choices, shown as the Surrender and War buttons.
- Surrender: you give up the hand and lose half of your bet.
- War: you raise your bet by the same amount as your original wager. The dealer burns three cards and then draws one card for each of you.
- If your War card beats or equals the dealer's, you win even money on the raise and get your original wager back.
- If the dealer's War card is higher, you lose both the original wager and the raise.
The Tie Bet side bet
Before the deal you can also put chips in the tie bet area in the middle of the table; the table itself reads 'Tie bets pay 10 to 1'. This bet only wins when your first card and the dealer's first card are equal. You can add chips of different values to it, and remove them again before dealing.
What Casino War does not have
There are no reels, wilds, free games, jackpot or gamble feature here. Everything that can happen is in the payout table below, which makes Casino War easy to learn in a few rounds.
Tips for playing
Decide before you start whether you will go to War or Surrender on a tie, so you do not make that choice in a hurry. Remember that going to War means putting in the same amount again. Treat the Tie Bet as an extra, not as your main bet, keep your stake inside your budget and stop when the budget is finished.
