Lines and how wins pay
Payline wins pay left to right only and are multiplied by the line bet. The only exception is the yin-yang scatter, which pays wherever it lands on the reels. Note that the help text has a few spelling mistakes, but the rules themselves are clear.
Only the highest win on each line is paid, so a line that could be read as two different combinations pays the bigger one.
The golden lion head
The golden lion head substitutes for every symbol except the scatter, and any win it helps create is doubled. It also pays on its own, and its line of five is worth 10,000, by far the top figure on the table. Even two lion heads on a line pay 10.
Yin-yang scatter and free games
The yin-yang scatter pays 2, 5, 20 or 500 for 2, 3, 4 or 5 anywhere. Three or more start 15 free games in which all prizes are tripled (x3). During the free games you can win 15 more, and the help says this can happen again and again.
The '5 Lions' gamble
After a win you can try the gamble. The dealer's card is opened on the left and you pick one of the face-down cards; if yours is higher, you win at even money. DOUBLE risks the whole win, DOUBLE HALF risks half of it, and COLLECT takes the win and ends the gamble.
Symbols and meters
Below the lion head come a golden dragon or phoenix, a golden toad, a koi or turtle, then K and A, Q, J and 10, and 9. Some rows pay for two of a kind as well. The jackpot meters on screen are not explained in the help.
Tips for playing
The gamble is optional. A wrong card loses the win you risked, so many players collect wins and only gamble small amounts. Set a limit before you start and stick to it.
Chinese Lion paytable
Values for 5, 4, 3 and 2 of a kind, multiplied by the line bet (the scatter pays in any position). Wins with the lion head are doubled.
