A wild that triples
The gold nugget is the substitute. In the base game it appears grouped on reels 2 and 4 and replaces every symbol except the 'Paydirt!' signs. When one or more nuggets complete a win, the prize is tripled, which is why the WITH column of the paytable is three times the normal value.
Choosing a feature
Three or more scattered signs start a pick: you select a sign and it reveals one of three features. All of them are free games played at the lines and bet of the triggering spin.
- Gold Rush: 12 free games; grouped nuggets can appear on any reel; 3 or more signs during the feature add 12 more.
- Gold Fever: 5 free games with reel 3 made up entirely of nuggets; 3 or more signs add 5 more.
- Strike It Lucky: five gold mines appear; each mine you select reveals a Bonus Symbol, and extra picks may be awarded. Then 10 free games are played in which every Bonus Symbol is turned into a nugget before pays; a retrigger adds 10 more.
The sign pays too
Apart from starting the pick, the 'Paydirt!' sign pays anywhere, multiplied by your total bet: 200 for five, 20 for four and 2 for three.
The mining crew
The mine entrance is the top symbol: 10,000 / 1,000 / 100 / 10. The miner pays 2,500 / 250 / 25 / 5, the bandit with a pistol 1,000 / 100 / 15 / 3 and the donkey with its gold cart 500 / 50 / 10 / 2. The dog with a dynamite crate pays 250 / 25 / 5 and the lantern with pickaxe 100 / 15 / 5.
Rules, jackpot and limit
All symbols pay left to right except the signs. Line wins are added together, scatter wins are added on top, and only the highest win per line counts. A progressive jackpot can be won at random at the end of any game; the help notes its contribution is no more than 1.5% of total Return to Player but gives no RTP figure. The maximum win per paid spin is 50,000 times the bet per line.
