Layout and ways to win
The rules page describes the game as a 5-reel, 4-row video slot with an additional row for each of reels 2, 3 and 4. It is played with a 20 base bet for 2,000 ways (fixed), bet level 1 to 10 and bet size 0.01 to 5.00.
Ways win when the winning symbols are in succession from the leftmost reel to the right. The number of winning ways for a symbol is found by multiplying the adjacent winning symbols on each reel, and the symbol payout is multiplied by that number of ways. The page example is 1 x 3 x 2 = 6, so a payout of 10 becomes 10 x 6 = 60. After every payout the winning symbols explode and the symbols above cascade down for a new round, and further wins are tallied until none remain.
Symbols and the paytable
The green tile with the character 發 is the top line at 50, 25 and 10 for 5, 4 and 3 matching symbols, then the red tile 中 at 40, 20 and 8. The rules page says a win in cash equals the Paytable value multiplied by the bet size and bet level, so these numbers are not amounts in RM.
Gold plated symbols
Gold plated symbols appear on reels 2, 3 and 4 only. During any spins, some symbols (other than Wild and Scatter) in reels 2, 3 and/or 4 may appear in gold. At every new round after the new symbols have cascaded down, a gold plated symbol that took part in a win in the previous round turns into a Wild symbol.
Multipliers
During any spins, all wins are multiplied by the multiplier shown above the reels, starting with x1 in the first round. A win in the first round raises the second round's multiplier to x2, a win in the second round raises the third round's to x3, and a win in the third round raises the fourth round's multiplier, and those after it, to x5.
Free spins
3 Scatter symbols appearing anywhere trigger the Free Spins Feature with 10 free spins, and each additional Scatter triggers 2 more free spins. The feature is played at the same bet size and bet level as the spin that triggered it, and free spins can be retriggered.
During the feature, all symbols (other than Wild and Scatter) in reel 3 appear in gold, and the multipliers above the reels are increased to x2, x4, x6 and x10 respectively.
Mahjong Ways 2 paytable
Values printed on the Paytable page for 5 / 4 / 3 matching symbols; the rules page says winnings are these values multiplied by the bet, and they are not RM amounts.
