243 ways from the left
The help page calls Night City a video slot with 5 reels, 3 rows and 243 ways. Wins count in succession from the leftmost reel to the right, and the example picture marks a combination that starts on reel 1 as YES and the others as NO. The help page uses line wording here, saying only the maximum amount of winnings on each line is paid out, without explaining how that applies to ways.
The Special Wild and its cross
The Special Wild is a neon lion face. It appears on reels 1, 2 and 3 only, and only in the Main Game. When it lands it expands vertically and horizontally by one extra Special Wild in each direction, so the pictures show a plus shape. The expansion happens only on the visible board, and the round is calculated after the expansion.
The Special Wild substitutes for all symbols except the disco ball and the regular WILD, a neon dragon. That WILD in turn substitutes for all symbols except the disco ball and the Special Wild. The help page prints no pay values for either wild.
Free Game and the climbing multiplier
In a general game you get 10 free spins when reels 1 to 5 all show the disco ball. Inside the Free Game, a disco ball on each of the five reels adds another 10 free spins, and free spins have an upper limit of 50. Each round's score is multiplied, and the start depends on how many disco balls opened the feature:
- 5 disco balls: starts at X1, +1 each round
- 6 disco balls: starts at X2, +2 each round
- 7 disco balls: starts at X3, +3 each round
The neon symbols
The red neon character sign is the top paying symbol: 6, 2 and 1.2 for five, four and three at a bet of 1. The saxophone pays 4.5, 1.5 and 1, the microphone 3, 1.2 and 0.6, and the bottle 2.5, 1 and 0.5. A and K share 1.5, 0.6 and 0.3, while Q and J share 1, 0.4 and 0.2. The paytable is dynamic, so the game shows these values at your own bet.
A calm night out
Decide in advance how much the night is worth and stick to it. Start on a small bet, read the paytable at your bet level in the game, and stop when your budget is spent. If a malfunction leaves a round undecided, that round is invalid.
